Fantasy Football-Week 2 Waiver Wire Pick Ups

Let's start off with the elephant in the room, those that need to 'replace' Aaron Rodgers!

You ain't gettin that caliber player off the wire in week 2, but here are some good 'Best of The Rest' candidates....

#1-Jared Goff may actually be on your waiver wire, as he is only rostered in 50.2% of ESPN fantasy leagues(shouldn't have been, but may be nonetheless) and if he is, you should put forth your best reasonable effort to get him to fill in on home game weeks at least, where he is significantly better than on road games.

#2-Brock Purdy(rostered in 47.1% ESPN) is on a great team with great weapons, but unfortunately doesn't need to do much, so his ceiling will be tempered.

#3-Jimmy Garappolo is only registered in 13.8% of ESPN leagues and can be a spot filler for decent matchups.  Unfortunately Garappolo has low upside, but low downside as well, since he does not traditionally turn the ball over and wins more than he looses.

#4-Mac Jones is similar to Garappolo with the low up and downside, but did turn in a good fantasy day in a chasing loss to the Eagles in week 1, so has the ability, if not the likelihood of good games.   Jones is rostered in 9.6% of ESPN leagues, so should very likely be available.

With the injury to JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill respectively, should be added to rosters with the increased looming workloads coming their ways.

Roschon Johnson got a surprising share of the Bears backfield and should be added at least by those who have Khalil Herbert as a starting running back.

Tyler Allgeier was the RB shock of the week, out touching and out gaining vaunted rookie and first round fantasy pick Bijan Robinson.

Not far behind Allgeier was Keneth Gainwell dominating the Eagles backfield and rendering 'starting' RB DeAndre Swift null.

The Rams had a pair of unexpected fantasy relevant WRs in Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell, that both should be valuable as long as Cooper Kupp is out.

Allen Robinson will be filling in for the injured Dionte Johnson for at least a few weeks and proved to be valuable in the 4th quarter of week 1 after Johnson left the game.

Old hand journeyman Robert Woods saw significant targets behind Nico Collins and quite frankly, there is no one else to throw to besides those 2 and TE Dalton Schultz.

Sneaking in under the radar with an almost unnoticed good week was rookie Rashid Shaheed of the NO Saints as the 3rd receiver who also saw 2 carries on the ground.

TE were mostly quiet in week one with Kelce and Andrews both out, but Hayden Hurst(15.5% ESPN) of the Panthers and Hunter Henry(19.6% ESPN) of the NE Patriots led the way and are both possibly on your waiver wire.

Lastly note that Graham Gano of the NY Giants was not only scoreless in week one, but was injured and missed a FG after being injured, so you should replace him with some kicker at the top of your waiver wire, doesn't much matter which one, they're kickers.....🫢

Good luck in week 2!!🏉🏈
