FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 4-LAST MINUTE DO'S AND DONT'S 09/30/23
So the hot pick up of the week was obviously Miami Dolphin RB Devin Achane, however I would be hesitant to start him this week at the Buffalo Bills if I have another legitimate option.
Not only is Achane option 2 in the Dolphins backfield, but this looks to be a heavy passing game and with Jaylen Waddle returning to the lineup from a concussion, Achane should be at best the 4th passing option behind Tyreke Hill, Waddle, and Raheem Mostert.
I'm struggling with starting both Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence if I have a good 2nd option, as they have both been quite fantasy inept so far this season. Will probably wait until they show me a good game first, to then put them back in the lineup.
I am also benching Lamar Jackson and all Ravens going to Cleveland against what to this point is easily the best defense in the NFL, including the SF 49ers...
Derrick Henry had a horrible game against those Browns last week, but that will be an outlier and expect Henry to get back on track this week against the Cincinnati Bengals and be an RB1!
Terrible matchup for Arizona RB James Conner at that SF defense, so I'd recommend benchhing Conner, though he is always a candidate to pilfer a TD or 2, but can't count on Arizona scoring many(or any) TSs... I'd feel more comfortable with that possibility if they were playing this game in Arizona.
Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams has been reinstated from his 4 game ban for gambling infractions, after the Lions Thursday nights victory over the Green Bay Packers and is a hot pick up off the waiver wire for potential use nest week(5).
L.A. Chargers RB Austin Ekeler flirted with returning this week, but has basically been ruled out with the bye week coming up for the Chargers in week 5 to give Ekeler additional rest and healing time, so Joshua Kelley will get his 2nd start after doing surprisingly little with the 1st one last week.
The most interesting game of the week may be the 2 most apparently bad teams taking on each other, as the 20-70 Denver Broncos travel to Chicago to take on the dysfunctional Bears, because somebody has to stop somebody and somebody has to score🤫!!(I think?🤔)
RB Alvin Kamara returns this week for the N.O. Saints in their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jameis Winston to get the start for the injured New Orleans QB Derick Carr.
Another very interesting and under the radar matchup this week is the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to Houston after their Sunday Night road victory against the L.V. Raiders, so a bad lay for them against the Texans and upcoming rookie QB CJ Stroud. I'd expect a good showing from Houston in this scenario, though that Steelers defense has a lot of playmakers.
Unfortunately for everyone except the K.C. Chiefs fans and team, poor Zack Wilson will be trotted out again to 'lead' the NY Jets on Sunday night football, so also bad for the NFL and it's fans.😖(feeling bad for Zach Wilson that he's being failed and let down by the NYJ organization, as is the rest of the team)
