Week 1-Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets, The Buffalo Bills, and fantasy football reality checks! 09/12/23

What a disastrous wrap up to week one of the NFL and fantasy football!🤕

Aaron Rodgers went down for the season with an Achilles injury on the 4th play of the game last night on Monday Night Football and uuuuuuhhhhhh, the NEW YORK J E T S still beat the Buffalo Bills somehow!🏈🫢

that 'somehow' would be perennial MVP candidate Josh Allen looking like anything but, with 4 turnovers including 3, yes I said 3 interceptions to NYJ safety Jordan Whitehead!(I bet you wish you had Whitehead in your fantasy football lineup for those that do individual defensive players)

Rodgers was only one of several marquee QBs that had less than stellar fantasy football weeks, including the aforementioned Josh Allen.
Dak Prescott, Daniel Jones, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson put up less than pedestrian single digit fantasy football days and Jalen Hurts was less than stellar with under 15 fantasy points.

Only 4 TEs were able to crack double digits and none were fantastic, with only TJ Hockenson doing it as an expected double digit TE, noting that the top 2 expected, Kelce and Andrews missed their games with injuries, while Kittle played with an injury designation and expectedly under impresses.

Aaron Jones and especially Tyler Algerier were the surprise RBs putting up top 5 numbers and Jones came out of the game injured and questionable for game 2 next week, making AJ Dillon a good have/get for week 2.
Feel bad for JK Dobbins who just can't stay on the field and is out for another season after incurring an Achilles injury in week 1.

WR was the most robust fantasy position in week with Superman Tyreke Hill exploding for the beginning of his self-scheduled historic 2,000 yard season, followed by budding star Brandon Aiyuk and newly signed Jakobi Meyers of the L.V. Raiders, who came out of week 1 with a concussion and is questionable for week 2.

The Dallas Cowboys defense led the week with a dismantling of the NY Giants, followed by the NY Jets and shocking Arizona Cardinals defenses respectively.

Next post we'll visit the waiver wire gems for week 2, so until then, don't panic even if you had Rodgers or Dobbins;
It's only week one!😉🏉
