FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 4-LAST MINUTE DO'S AND DONT'S 09/30/23

Image
So the hot pick up of the week was obviously Miami Dolphin RB Devin Achane, however I would be hesitant to start him this week at the Buffalo Bills if I have another legitimate option. Not only is Achane option 2 in the Dolphins backfield, but this looks to be a heavy passing game and with Jaylen Waddle returning to the lineup from a concussion, Achane should be at best the 4th passing option behind Tyreke Hill, Waddle, and Raheem Mostert. I'm struggling with starting both Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence if I have a good 2nd option, as they have both been quite fantasy inept so far this season.    Will probably wait until they show me a good game first, to then put them back in the lineup. I am also benching Lamar Jackson and all Ravens going to Cleveland against what to this point is easily the best defense in the NFL, including the SF 49ers... Derrick Henry had a horrible game against those Browns last week, but that will be an outlier and expect Henry to get back on track th...

NFL Week 3-A record week!๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿˆ

Image
How does an NFL team give up 70 points in a game?     Didn't they practice leading up to the game?? Sean Peyton was supposed to be the savior and everyone has been blaming Russel Wilson for the Denver Broncos woes, but Russ ain't playin defense and apparently neither is anybody else on the Denver Broncos๐Ÿซข๐Ÿคซ The Miami Dolphins ran and passed at will in what was described as their Home-Coming game, which is not supposed to happen in a league where everyone is paid to make sure that it doesn't, yet here we are.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♂️ The Dolphins ran for 5 touchdowns and passed for 5 touchdowns, with both running backs Raheem Mostert and Devin Achane(sure to be the much-contested waiver wire pick up of the upcoming week) scoring a combination of 4 touchdowns EACH!!(Yes I said EACH!!) The Broncos are reeling and somebody may be getting fired in the weeks, days, hours, minutes, or seconds following this scribe(if they already ain't fired๐Ÿค”). In other NFL news, the Buffalo Bills and th...

NFL-Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers-Oh no Nick Chubb!๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‰ 09/17/23

Image
Feel bad for Nick Chubb who just suffered what appears to be a major knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football when Minkah Fitzpatrick hit him on the knee on a carry inside the Pittsburgh 5 yard line. I'd expect the Browns to re-sign Kareem Hunt in the upcoming week to sub in for Chubb, as Hunt knows the offense already and is still on the market. The injury was so bad that ABC declined to show it immediately, then showed it from a broader angle with a warning about the graphic nature. Nick seems to be a good guy so let us hope that his health doesn't suffer as much as it appears.... In other RB injury news, Saquon Barkley was hurt toward the end of the NY Giants much needed comeback victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and reports are that he will be out for around 3 weeks. In other AFC north news Joe Burrow reaggravated his calf injury late in the 4th quarter in the Cincinnati Bengals loss against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. RBs Zack M...

NFL Fantasy Football Plug and Play-Week 2

Image
Some last minute thoughts for week 2 lineups in fantasy football; Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper reaggravated a groin injury in Saturdays practice and will be a game time decision, but unfortunately the Browns play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, so you'll probably want to replace Cooper for a Sunday game player to not risk being without or having an injured player playing in your lineup with potential in-game reaggravation cutting his night and your score short. I hope DeAndre Swift managers were wise enough and good enough to insert him into their lineups before Thursday nights game against the Vikings, with Kenneth Gainwell out with injury. RB Zack Moss is starting for the Indianapolis Colts and should see most of the work, as Deon Jackson was terrible last week in game one.  This weeks matchup at the Houston Texans should see a favorable game script for the Indy run game, as well as for Damien Pierce and the Texans run game, so both should be good RB2...

Fantasy Football-Week 2 Waiver Wire Pick Ups

Image
Let's start off with the elephant in the room, those that need to 'replace' Aaron Rodgers! You ain't gettin that caliber player off the wire in week 2, but here are some good 'Best of The Rest' candidates.... #1-Jared Goff may actually be on your waiver wire, as he is only rostered in 50.2% of ESPN fantasy leagues(shouldn't have been, but may be nonetheless) and if he is, you should put forth your best reasonable effort to get him to fill in on home game weeks at least, where he is significantly better than on road games. #2-Brock Purdy(rostered in 47.1% ESPN) is on a great team with great weapons, but unfortunately doesn't need to do much, so his ceiling will be tempered. #3-Jimmy Garappolo is only registered in 13.8% of ESPN leagues and can be a spot filler for decent matchups.  Unfortunately Garappolo has low upside, but low downside as well, since he does not traditionally turn the ball over and wins more than he looses. #4-Mac Jones is similar to ...

Week 1-Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets, The Buffalo Bills, and fantasy football reality checks! 09/12/23

Image
What a disastrous wrap up to week one of the NFL and fantasy football!๐Ÿค• Aaron Rodgers went down for the season with an Achilles injury on the 4th play of the game last night on Monday Night Football and uuuuuuhhhhhh, the NEW YORK J E T S still beat the Buffalo Bills somehow!๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿซข that 'somehow' would be perennial MVP candidate Josh Allen looking like anything but, with 4 turnovers including 3, yes I said 3 interceptions to NYJ safety Jordan Whitehead!(I bet you wish you had Whitehead in your fantasy football lineup for those that do individual defensive players) Rodgers was only one of several marquee QBs that had less than stellar fantasy football weeks, including the aforementioned Josh Allen. Dak Prescott, Daniel Jones, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson put up less than pedestrian single digit fantasy football days and Jalen Hurts was less than stellar with under 15 fantasy points. Only 4 TEs were able to crack double digits and none were fantastic, with only TJ Hockenson doing ...

Reality Checks๐Ÿ‰-NFL Week 1- 09/11/23

Image
Well the first week of the NFL concludes tonight with Bills at the Jets to cap off a surprising, if not telling, first act. It's hard to figure which so far was the more shocking outcome of the football week given the contenders: The Detroit Lions set it off from the very beginning and announced their arrival into the contenders, by upsetting the reigning champion and Superbowl favorite K.C. Chiefs on Thursday night football 21-20 in Kansas City, Kelce or no Kelce, Jones or no Jones!! The Cleveland Browns continued their recent dominance in the battle of Ohio against the expected-to-contend Cincinnati Bengals 24-3, while rendering the vaunted Bengals offense and newly crowned highest paid player in the NFL Joe Burrow, both anemic.... The Browns newly tooled and newly coached defense looked much improved, even without starting safety Juan Thornhill(calf injury) albeit it after only one game. The worst-team-in-the-NFL candidate T.B. Buccaneers looked anything but, in their road victo...
